Materials you'll need for the class
Most participants like to get themselves a copy of the ARRL License Manual. You can purchase one at Dan Judy Automotive in Salem, or at Ham Radio Outlet in Tigard. The ARRL "Q&A" is a good reference too. Another good reference is the books by Gordon West.
No purchase of a book is required. There is quite a bit of free material online, including the material by KB6NU that you can download anytime.
You are encouraged to get a reference manual ahead of time and study it thoroughly. Familiarize yourself with the ten major headings in the question pool and skim through each. Write down your questions and highlight any areas where you want to pay particular attention during the weekend class. That way, you'll be ready when that section is presented and the presenter will be happy to answer all your questions!
